Play detective and win
prizes!
By Faridul Anwar Farinordin
DR DAVID Robinson, an eccentric billionaire scientist is suddenly
missing. At his majestic mansion, there are clues pointing
to the culprits behind the mind-boggling mystery.
This is where you come in as a detective. But after talking
to his wife, maid, butler, driver, guard and gardener, you
discover that everyone tells a different story.
It's all up to you to solve the puzzle ... via short message
system (SMS) with Hotlink from Maxis Communications Berhad!
And win RM10,000, two each of Nokia 5510 and Nokia 3310
handphones, and 10 Hotlink Top Up Tickets worth RM60 each.
Sounds both intriguing and exciting, doesn't it?
This mystery game called Chabomzie (named after the mouse
who plays the role of a detective), is open to all Maxis
and Hotlink subscribers.
Your mission, as Chabomzie, is to identify Dr Robinson's
kidnapper. But beware of mousetraps and lurking predators
along the way which could lead to your untimely "death".
And if at any time you missed a clue or "died"
prematurely, you can always start again at the level you
have reached because everything is automatically saved for
you to continue your adventure (more details at the website).
Of course, there are friendly creatures to keep you company
too. They will help you find the clues to the missing doctor.
You will also find loads of cheese along the way - remember
to pick them up!
There are 20 levels of this adventure game altogether,
but speed is not what this is all about. Just make sure
you uncover all clues and speak to the people to reveal
their secret. Don't leave any stones unturned.
Since this game is played via SMS, you first need to log
on to www.activateyourlife.com.my for details.
At the website, you'll learn how to set up your SMS to
play the game. You will also learn about the standard commands
which allow your character to move around.
As Chabomzie, navigate your way through SMS. Just type
in the command; send it via SMS to move around the mansion
and its surroundings (north, south, east, west), talk to
other creatures and use items which you have collected.
If you think you know who kidnapped the missing doctor,
as well as the other culprits who were involved in the hideous
crime, it's time for you to send in your final answer via
SMS ... and become the Grand Prize winner!
This whodunit game runs until Sept 1. Each SMS game command
sent will be charged RM0.15. The grand prize winner will
be announced on Sept 9.
A few suggestions before you start: Download the Chabomzie
brochure at the website for reference while playing the
game. To get a feel of the whole mystery, check out its
trailer!
On top of this, YouthQuake readers will also get to win
other prizes too. Extra, extra for us! All you have to do
is answer two questions correctly on this page and complete
the slogan.
Winners will receive 10 Hotlink top-up tickets worth RM100
and 10 worth RM60 each. Don't forget to include your personal
details.
A prize-giving ceremony for the lucky readers will be held
at the NST office after the names have been announced in
YouthQuake, two weeks after the closing date.
